Thelocactus hexaedrophorus var. lloydii ist eine ältere Bezeichnung innerhalb des variablen Thelocactus-hexaedrophorus-Formenkreises. Der aktuell akzeptierte Name lautet Thelocactus hexaedrophorus.

Merkmale
Die Pflanze wächst meist einzeln, gedrückt kugelig und zeigt einen grauen bis bläulich grünen Körper mit kräftigen, flachen und typisch deltaförmige Warzen, 1–3 rötliche Mitteldornen sowie 6–8 rötlich weiße bis bräunliche Randdornen. Die Blüten sind hellrosa bis fast weiß mit dunklerer Mittellinie.

Heimat
Heimat: Nordost-Mexiko bis Jalisco; die lloydii-Form wird besonders mit Zacatecas verbunden.

Systematik
Thelocactus hexaedrophorus var. lloydii und Thelocactus hexaedrophorus subsp. lloydii werden heute als Synonyme von Thelocactus hexaedrophorus geführt.
